Works In Progress

Some examples of my process to complete a painting.

Fabulous Frogattini Brothers --- sloooooowww WIP

This is an A4 piece I started some time ago when we first made my studio. It's been on the drawing board for MONTHS! One day I WILL finish it .

Mouse House WIP

Yet another WIP to peruse.

I won't put the usual banter in because you likely know how it works by now.

Friesian WIP

Here are the WIP's for the beautiful Friesian. He was such a lovely subject.

The first ugly stage of working out shading. I tend to do very little detail when I do the initial drawings

Not So Different

This painting was done on commission by a surgeon who purchased my graphite painting "No So Different".  He wanted to hang the two together to compare the two hands.

First the outline with a smudge stick

Fly Spotter WIP

Here's another example of a WIP. I tend to start of with a very simple outline with not a lot of detail. I do this just to get the dimensions correct and things in the right place. The details come later.
